On Friday 18th October, Shine held an official day of celebrations to mark our 40th anniversary. We had an early start on Friday morning when we hosted the broadcast of the PJ and Jim Breakfast Show on Classic Hits FM, LIVE from Shine Dublin. We opened the doors of our centre and invited everyone to come along, join us for breakfast and enjoy the fun and games.
Following a fun-filled morning, we made our way to Smock Alley theatre in Dublin City Centre for our official celebration where we were joined by Shine members, people who use Shine services, family members and relatives, our board, staff and volunteers, colleagues from the mental health sector and friends of Shine.
Our MC for the afternoon was Paddy Cullivan, with speeches from our Chair Kevin Jones and our CEO John Saunders. We were delighted to showcase the first ever screening of our new digital video series “Shine People” which received an incredible response on the day. We are excited to officially launch the series soon. We finished off the celebrations with food, drinks and music which gave everyone a chance to chat and mingle.
