Support from those close to us, such as family and friends, is vital to our wellbeing. We need support, and we regularly provide support to others. Oftentimes, however, it can be easy to forget or minimise the impact that giving this support may have on us.

Family recovery is about recognising that family members and other supporters are impacted in a number of ways by their response to another person’s mental health challenges.

This webinar explored the concept of family recovery, a family member’s experience and personal recovery journey, and why supporters need to practice self-compassion and self-care towards themselves.

Our speakers are experts in the area, both from a personal experience perspective and a professional capacity. They are:
– Ann Marie Flanagan, Shine Regional Development Officer
– Marian Keaty, Family Recovery Peer Supporter
– Dr Malie Coyne, Clinical Psychologist, Bestselling Author, and Adjunct Psychology Lecturer at the University of Galway

This webinar is aimed at family members, friends and other supporters of people experiencing mental health challenges. Everyone is welcome!
