June – A Poem by Liam O Donnell

June

Early in the morning,
the rain-spattered leaves wave in the breeze,
And the low whistle of the morning wind,
provides a background,
As I rise to face the day

Darkness still lingers on,
and rain just pitter–patters down,
Summer is here,
Exams are over, and the students,
are out of school,
to enjoy the long holidays,
that stretch into the horizon.
