Shine Presents: Therapeutic Responses to Trauma

Shine hosts a half day conference on Wednesday 7th November from 12pm to 3pm in the Clayton Hotel, Lapps Quay, Cork City. This is a free event open to anyone with an interest in mental health. The conference will focus on the issue of Trauma – how we experience trauma and how to interact with it.


Speakers on the day include Shine Cork Counsellor Damien Lillis, Alison Winfield, founder member and practitioner of Mindfully Well and Anne Marie Shepherd from Centre for CBT.

UCC Certificate in Mental Health in the Community in Knocknaheeny (SICAP)

Cork City Partnership is partnering with UCC and Mental Health Ireland to deliver the Certificate in Mental Health Programme in Knocknaheeny, Cork. This programme aims to build on the capacities of individuals / communities to encourage greater advocacy on topics of mental health and wellbeing. The course will begin in January 2019 and will run on Wednesday mornings.

Fees and Costs

Fees (usually €990) will be covered for successful SICAP eligible students. This programme is part funded by Gurranabraher Credit Union.

Students who are registered on this programme are eligible to apply for the Financial Aid Fund for Part Time Students. Eligibility criteria applies. For more information see
